It took a few days to deliver the donations to the group of homeless people because they have to constantly keep moving. They were very happy to receive the items and are doing well. They are still building bicycles and pursuing their dreams.

“To love what you do and feel that it matters — how could anything be more fun?”
Katharine Graham

The Code 7 was a great success this year. We are able to serve 98 Police and EMS working the night shift on Christmas Eve.
The Code 7 stands for meal time for all Police, Fire and EMS that are on duty. We have been doing this event on Christmas Eve for over 17 years at St. Anne’s and every year, its always a great time and a joyful event. My grandmother, Joni Lockwood, put in a lot of hard work before passing the duties on to me and I look forward to it every year. The Code 7 team consists of myself and leaders like Spencer Lockwood, Amy Miller, the Johnson Family, Madeline Ruiz and a host of others.
Thank you for your support,
Spencer Lockwood Code 7 Team Leader

As Thanksgiving approaches we are grateful for all of the blessings that have enriched our lives. Many of us would like to show our appreciation by helping those who are in need.

We are excited to announce that we will be collecting food to donate to the Emergency Food Bank. To make it easy for all of us we can bring our donations to church on Sunday and the St Ann Vestry will get them to the Food Bank. If you forget there are stores right around the corner that you can stop by after the service and pick up a few items to bring back.

The Emergency Food Bank is in need of all of the fixing for Thanksgiving Dinner, but is also making a push to fill it’s pantry selves. High Protein foods are especially appreciated but all items are welcome.

“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
Winston Churchill

Last year I attended Pub Night For the very first time. I had a good time but had no idea of what it takes to put on such a great event. A year later, having been on the planning committee, I now understand. Everyone that participated in putting together the event for 2013 deserves a hearty thanks. This year was not just fun and successful but ran smoothly. The St Anne Family and extended community volunteers came together and out did themselves. Not only are we are going to be making a generous contribution to the Women’s Center / Youth And Family Services and the Emergency Food Bank, we also raised money for St Anne and everyone who attended had a great time. I sat with people that were at their first Pub night this year and they were amazed at the whole experience. This is a unique community experience. As we build on our success get ready because next year will be better than ever.

I think I’d like to be able to heal people’s pain, whether it is hunger, loneliness or whatever.

Like so many people I find myself wanting to find a way to make a difference. We live in a land of such abundance but we are confronted daily with the awareness that too many are going without their basic needs. My thanks goes out to Evelyn & Noble for making it so easy for all of us to do something that will make a difference in people’s lives right here in our own back yard. Please drop of your donations at The Episcopal Church Of St Anne or you can take them to the address listed below. The Food Bank has been impacting lives for a long time thanks to caring people that take action when they see a need.
